Diffuse 5 is looking for interns! We would love to bring on creative thinkers who are looking to make an impact at a start-up company. Connect with your Inner-Marketing Maven!
Diffuse 5 is looking to connect with an intern who wants to get their Marketing feet wet (or maybe even soaked) by learning about Marketing work in the start-up world… coming up with cool tactics, tools and techniques to reach a savvy audience without the budget of the big kids.
This fall, we would love to bestow the title of “Intern” on an individual looking to exercise their creativity and curiosity by handling marketing and promotion research, development and implementation. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to develop their marketing skills and build their resume by working closely with a CEO in an early-stage, mission-driven, venture.
Major upcoming projects that the applicant will have the opportunity to collaborate on include promoting and planning events, developing a business plan, creating partnerships with existing organizations in Boston and developing a grass-roots marketing campaign.
Responsibilities may include:
- Working closely with the CEO to develop marketing and promotional plans for upcoming 6 – 12 months.
- Research events throughout Massachusetts that align with Diffuse 5 and it’s mission
- Research out-of-the-box advertising & marketing ideas
- Assist in the planning and implementation of sponsored marketing events to build brand loyalty and awareness
- Assist with administrative duties typically related to online research
- Marketing research, development & implementation
- Research partnership opportunities with companies that can be utilized through blogs, Facebook and Twitter
- Conduct market research through the development of surveys and online research
- Research and analyze competitor’s use of marketing and content development and create best practices accordingly.
There may also be opportunities to take on independent projects that the site and the community it serves can benefit from. This position has a lot of flexibility based on the individual’s interests, strengths and goals.
The most important qualifications for this position include:
- Being able to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong outside-of-the-box thinking, imagination and creativity.
- Goal-oriented with strong work ethic and ability to own projects from beginning to end.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.

Is Creative Content Your Calling?
This is a great opportunity for an outgoing individual who would like to improve their writing, research and new media skills, while getting an idea of how a bootstrapping start-up operates.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Research queer-friendly companies, services, organizations and events in and around Boston.
- Connect with businesses, services & organizations that align with our mission and develop stories highlighting them, what they do and who they are.
- Work with team to create interesting content & media for business promotion.
- Assist with administrative duties typically related to online research.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter who is organized, reliable, and has a lot of attention to detail.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
- Must be outgoing and have good people skills.
- Creativity and thinking outside-of-the-box is a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can work three to four days per week and commit to a three-month internship.
